Terms of Service

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern the use of taxi and roadside assistance services provided by TAXI CHOMEDEY. By booking or using any of our services, you unconditionally accept these Terms. If you do not agree with any of these Terms, you must refrain from using our services.

1. Service description

TAXI CHOMEDEY is a taxi and roadside assistance service serving Laval, the North Shore and the Laurentians, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our services include: local transport, transport to Montréal-Trudeau Airport (YUL), battery boost, door unlocking, adapted medical transport, express delivery and drive-home service.

2. Regulated pricing

In accordance with Quebec's Act respecting remunerated passenger transportation by automobile, our rates are determined according to three pricing modes:

• Taximeter: official rate set by the SAAQ, applicable to trips ordered by phone or hailed on the street.
• Dynamic pricing: price known in advance via a technological platform (mobile application, where applicable).
• Written contract: for long-distance trips or business services, a contract is drafted before departure.

A mandatory surcharge of $1.05 (taxes included) is added to the price of each trip, in accordance with the law. All rates are displayed on the rate sticker affixed to the rear left window of the vehicle.

3. Booking and cancellation

Bookings are made by phone at 514-239-6512. In case of cancellation:

• Before the driver arrives: no cancellation fee.
• After the driver arrives: a $15 travel fee may apply.
• Less than 30 minutes notice for a scheduled booking: a $20 fee may apply.

4. Accepted payment methods

• Cash (CAD)
• Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit cards
• Interac debit card
• Mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay), where applicable

A paper or digital invoice is issued at the end of each trip, in accordance with Quebec regulations.

5. Expected customer conduct

The customer agrees to:

• Respect the drivers and the vehicle provided
• Not consume alcohol or illicit substances on board
• Not smoke in the vehicle (including e-cigarettes)
• Wear a seatbelt at all times
• Mention service animals at the time of booking

Any aggressive or disrespectful behavior toward the driver may result in immediate termination of the trip and intervention by authorities, without refund.

6. Lost items

TAXI CHOMEDEY is not responsible for items left behind in the vehicle. However, we are committed to keeping found items for 30 days. To recover an item, call 514-239-6512 with as much detail as possible (date, time, route, item description).

7. Limitation of liability

TAXI CHOMEDEY makes every effort to provide punctual and safe service. However, we are not responsible for delays or damages arising from circumstances beyond our control: weather conditions, traffic accidents, bridge or road closures, police interventions, or unforeseen mechanical breakdowns. Our liability is limited to the price of the trip.

8. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and applicable Canadian federal laws. Any dispute will be resolved by the courts of Quebec, Laval district. For any unresolved complaint, you may contact the Commission des transports du Québec (CTQ) or the Office de la protection du consommateur du Québec.
